iHobby Experience Center
Until recently, our physical hobby shop iHobby was located in the heart of Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. In this shop, and later in the iHobby Experience Center, everything revolved around inspiration and creativity. We were able to personally advise many customers and organize countless workshops and children's parties. Something we look back on with great fondness.
From the small hobby shop, we grew into an online hobby shop with over 20,000 hobby items in stock. At some point, all these items no longer fit in the retail space. Therefore, we moved our inventory and office to the De Kleine Vink industrial estate in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. After this move, it proved difficult to serve all customers satisfactorily in a smaller shop and in the post-COVID era. Not all items could be displayed and sometimes had to be ordered online. This proved disappointing for many visitors. After much deliberation, we decided to close our physical shop on December 31, 2024. That was a big change for our regular store customers and our team. To this day, customers still visit us daily. On a positive note, we were able to focus even more on improving the online creative experience and our range of creative products in the period since then.
Our new concept allows you to order items via the website and collect them directly (Click & Collect) from our warehouse at Steenbakkerij 51 in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. Starting February 1, 2026, you can also order via the order kiosk in our office. Our office is located at Steenbakkerij 49 in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel.
We are looking for ways to maintain personal contact with our customers. That's why we participate in the autumn edition of the Kreadoe trade fair in Utrecht at least once a year. We would also like to organize an iHobby event in 2026, but we'll be happy to discuss that further. Do you have any suggestions for us? Let us know.
